The Four Tops- one of the big acts in the history of Motown- were from Detroit- lead by singer Levi Stubbs. They had 45 Hot 100 singles in their career and 24 Top 40 hits- they had 2 #1’s “I Can’t Help Myself” 1965 and “Reach Out I’ll Be There” 1966.
I love this song. Such a different sound for them.
“I Can’t Help Myself” 1965 and “Reach Out I’ll Be There” are among my all-time favorite Motown songs. I’ve always enjoyed The Four Tops, and much of it has had to do with their beautiful singing. I didn’t know this tune, which another example of their great harmony singing!
Those are great singles!
Lotsa hits!
