A remake of rockabilly singer Johnny Burnette’s 1960 hit which went to #8. Here is a trivia question- Who was the only ex-Beatle to have two #1 hits- off of the same album? Believe it or not it is one Ringo Starr- who had #1 hits with “Photograph” and “You’re Sixteen” both from the Ringo album. When The Beatles broke up in 1970 who would have thought that Ringo would have had 2 #1 hits-before John Lennon had even one?
A pretty good song, glad he did it when he did. Anyone trying to record that these days would have to sing “You’re 16, you’re beautiful, now I’m in jail!”
I know now Hans! Timing is everything. It’s not a bad remake but this makes it to number 1 while It Don’t Come Easy doesn’t earlier.
Cute song.
