Marvin Gaye had a subpar year for him- in 1970 on the Billboard Pop 100 he had 5 singles make the Hot 100 but only this one made the Top 40- and it peaked at #40. 1971 would be a great year for Marvin- with his What’s Going On album and 3 Top 10 hits.

Saturday will be the 50th anniversary of American Top 40 with Casey Kasam- the first song he played was this song- it was #40 that week. … a little trivia.

I’m embarrassed to say I don’t remember this one. I was a huge Marvin Gaye fan at the time too.
For some reason 1970 wasn’t a great year for him- but that would soon change.
I’m not sure I had heard this tune before. I just love Marvin Gaye! He had so much passion and soul in his voice.
