30 Day Song Challenge: Day 23: A Song With A Color In The Title: “Mr. Blue Sky”-Electric Light Orchestra. This topic was difficult because there are so many great songs with color in the title-which one to choose? I decided to go with something uplifting- ‘Mr. Blue Sky” is one of my favorite E.L.O. songs. The E.L.O. era I like best is from the mid 1970’s to the end of the decade with the albums A New World Record and the double album Out Of The Blue my favorites. “Mr. Blue Sky” was the second single from Out Of The Blue and really didn’t do well on the singles Pop chart peaking at #35 which kind of stumped me- to me it sounded like a big hit. I think time has treated the song well – for a song which wasn’t a big hit during it’s time it gets a lot of air play.

One of my favorite ELO songs from my favorite ELO album.
I like songs that make me happy- this one surely fits that definition!
Great song from a great album.
ELO at their peak!
A classic ELO song – heavy production and somewhat weird, yet brilliant at the same time – and undoubtedly catchy. It’s probably going to be stuck in my brain for the remainder of the evening! 🙂
Jeff Lynne is a talented song-writer and a pretty good guitarist.
There are worse songs to get stuck in the brain! I agree with you on Jeff Lynne.
100 percent. He’s great at what he does!
