Little Richard born Richard Penniman in Macon, Georgia in 1932- one of the pioneers of rock and roll. Voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the initial class in 1986. The legendary performer was bigger and greatest than the charts indicated. He had 21 Hot 100 hits and 10 Top 40 hits in his career with “Long Tall Sally” #6 in 1956 being his biggest. His last Top 40 hit was “O OH My Soul” in 1958- he gave up rock and roll in the late 60’s and never got his momentum back. Times changed but Little Richard remains one of the all-time greats and a great influence on acts for generations to come.
