I think I got 3 cavities just listening to this song again today. More of an annoying song to me than bad. Wilson Pickett did a better job on it. A group of studio musicians managed by Don Kirshner of Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert fame. I still picture Paul Shaffer in my head when I think Don Kirshner. This was a slow growing hit- it wasn’t until it was released on Kirshner’s record label that it took off. The most famous bubblegum pop song?

  1. Without a doubt the most famous one…funny on the Shaffer memory. I remember the SNL when he played him…I think more than once.
