“Sugar Sugar” of course is a remake of The Archie’s #1 hit and a much improved version of the song. This was the second of four Hot 100 hits for Pickett in 1970- 2 of which made the Top 40. The b-side “Cole, Cooke and Redding” also made the charts peaking at #91. “The Wicked Pickett” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
Much better than The Archies version.
