The Moody Blues were an art rock band from Birmingham, England. When the band began Denny Laine was the front man- he would later be a key member of Paul McCartney and Wings in the 1970’s. When Laine left in 1966 he was replaced by Justin Hayward who would write most of the songs and was also lead guitarist and vocalist. Overall The Moody Blues had 21 Hot 100 singles- with 13 making the Top 40 from 1965-88.  Their biggest hit “Nights In White Satin” #2 1972.
