A soft rock band from Jacksonville, Florida- The Classic IV had 12 Hot 100 singles from 1967-75- with 5 making it into the Top 40. Their biggest hit “Traces” #2 in 1969. Their lead singer Dennis Yost died in 2008 at the age of 65.
I really liked this band back in the day, and loved their songs Spooky, Stormy & Traces, all of which peaked at #2. Like CCR, none of their singles reached #1. I bought their greatest hits album, but surprisingly, never heard this song.
Maybe the Greatest Hits album was out before this song came out? IDK.
Yes it was. I’m just surprised I never heard this song, given that I was a fan of theirs.
New song but I remember his voice in the hits Eclectic mentions. Not a bad song.
