A Pop band from Canada- featuring the husband and wife team of Susan and Terry Jacks. The group would break up when the couple got divorced in 1973- and of course the name Terry Jacks has to ring a bell- “Seasons In The Sun”- one of the worst songs ever- it infected the world and went to #1 everywhere in 1974. Back to The Poppy Family- they had 5 Hot 100 singles in 1970-71- two of which made the Top 40. For a single which reached #2 on the charts- I am not sure I have ever heard this song before.
I remember this one. She has a pretty voice but, boy is this song depressing.
Wow, Jacks really enjoyed writing sad songs didn’t he? And I confess, I like both songs.
My sister would play “Season’s In The Sun” over and over and cry… Last year I ran across the album for $1 and had to get it for her.
I remember this song, as it was played a lot on San Francisco radio stations. I liked it well enough.
It definitely has the “Jacks Factor.”
