“The Ice Man” Jerry Butler and R&B singer born in Sunflower, Mississippi- came to fame first as a singer with The Impressions- he left the group for a solo career in 1958. This was his second of three Hot 100 singles in 1970. The biggest hit in his solo career was “Only The Strong Survive” #4 in 1969.
