Sweet Soul Music of the 70’s- “Everlasting Love”- Carl Carlton

Carl Carlton an R&B singer-songwriter was born in Detroit in 1953. He had two Top 40 hits- “Everlasting Love” in 1973 was his biggest hit reaching #6 in the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Chart. His other hit was “She’s A Bad Mama Jama” #22 in 1981. “Everlasting Love” was written by Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden. The song has been a hit 4 times over the years- first with Robert Knight #13 in 1967, then Carl Carlton’s version in 1973, Rex Smith and Rachel Sweet #32 in 1981 and Gloria Estefan #27 in 1995- the superior version to me is this one by Carl Carlton.
