572. “Ballad Of Easy Rider”- The Byrds. Columbia. Country Rock. Written by Roger McGuinn. B-side:”Oil In My Lamp.” Peaked at #65 and spent 6 weeks in the Hot 100. From the great movie “Easy Rider.” The Byrds one of the most influential American bands ever- had 16 Hot 100 singles with 7 making the Hot 100- in a just world they would have had three times as many hits at least. Their biggest hits came early on- with 2 #1 hits in 1965- “Mr. Tambourine Man” and “Turn! Turn! Turn!”-Grade: A

The 2nd of 2 1969 singles by Eddie Floyd to make the Hot 100. In his career he had 10 Hot 100 singles with 3 making the Top 40. His most famous song “Knock On Wood” went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979 when covered by Amii Stewart. Grade: B
