Another Beatles person has passed- Robert Freeman the photographer best known who shooting four Beatles album covers- has died at the age of 82. The four Beatles albums he took- “With The Beatles”, “Beatles For Sale”. “Help!” and “Rubber Soul.”
On a side note- in Philip Norman’s book “Lennon” he wrote that Freeman’s wife- Sonny Drake a model had a two year affair with John Lennon-[Drake told him this 43 years after it supposedly happened} and Drake claimed that she was the inspiration for the Lennon written Beatles classic “Norwegian Wood.”
That is sad…they are slowly leaving.
I was thinking-who will be the last Beatles person standing? Someone who had a connection with The Beatles in their time… Have you started reading Solid State yet?
I’m starting Monday. I finished off the Peter Grant book that I’ll post tomorrow this week on a trip to and from Atlanta. I still have to start the Love Me Do book… That one really sounds interesting. I want to start that one this weekend.
I started Solid State today- just in the early stages of the book- I think it is going to be a good one.
Good… I don’t know if I asked you. What did you think of his second one on Martin? I liked it… it’s like a place holder until…we know what.
I liked the Martin books- yes good place holders until the day we are waiting for!
If affairs count, Stevie Nicks had an affair with Derek Taylor and wrote “Beautiful Child” about that situation.
I didn’t know that.
He did good work. May he rest in peace.
I guess 43 years later was safe enough to let him know about the affair, huh? Smart lady. Must be nice to have yourself immortalized in a song….
