The Sounds Of Summer- Day 59 out of 95. “Summertime”- DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. I haven’t heard this song in years- it’s hard to believe it came out 28 years ago in 1991. It would win a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by A Duo or A Group. I am no expert on rap but it seems like the kind of ‘safe’ pick they would make for a Grammy Award.  Will Smith is to rap what Huey Lewis is to rock and roll. While I am not fanatical about this song it is a good summer tune. It also did well on the Billboard Singles chart- peaking at #4 in the summer of 91. I saw a preview the other day of an upcoming Will Smith movie- and my first thought was he is starting to look old- I checked Will Smith turns 52 next month.
