The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is- Sweet Virginia. Sweet Virginia is the first song on side 2 of Exile On Main St. Sweet Virginia a slow country-blues song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. This is one of the older songs on Exile On Main St. -it goes back to the Sticky Fingers days- and it would bring some legal action from the shark Allen B. Klein who knew were every nickel was hid- Sweet Virginia and four other songs from Exile were written when they were under contract with his company- ABKCO. Mick plays harmonica on this one- and one of the backup singers Clydie King would be a long time back up singer for Bob Dylan. Most memorable line in the song- “got to scrape the s–t right off your shoes.”
