• BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: THE GHOST OF TOM JOAD: 1995: 3 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Bruce’s first album since the the first real negative reaction he received with Human Touch/ Lucky Town. The album is more in the mode of Nebraska than his other albums. A mixed bag- some really good songs- Youngstown is a real standout. Brucemania was over- the album went to #11 on the album charts and there was nothing even close to a hit single. It would be seven more years before another Bruce album.

• THE BEATLES: REVOLVER: 1966: Now how in the world do I rate these songs? Love them all. 1-Eleanor Rigby  2- Tomorrow Never Knows 3-Here, There and Everywhere, 4-I’m Only Sleeping 5-Taxman 6-She Said She Said 7-And Your Bird Can Sing 8-Good Day Sunshine 9-Got To Get You Into My Life 10-For No One 11-Doctor Robert 12-Yellow Submarine 13- I Want To Tell You- 14- Love You To.

• CROWDED HOUSE: CROWDED HOUSE: 1986: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Their debut album and its A perfect pop music album. Don’t Dream Its Over their biggest hit ever #2 one of my favorite 1980’s songs- this is their most commercial album- nearly every song sounds like a hit to my ears. Best pop album of the decade?

• KEN BURNS CIVIL WAR SOUNDTRACK:  1990: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS:  My go-to album when traveling around a battlefield.
