The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is Little Queenie. Little Queenie was written by Chuck Berry. It was a double-A side single with Almost Grown released by Berry in 1959. Although it wasn’t a hit- it peaked at #80- it is recognized as a Chuck Berry classic and over the years has been covered by many artists including The Rolling Stones at their November 1969 concert at Madison Square Garden-which is on their famous live album “Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out- The Rolling Stones In Concert. The Chuck Berry original can be found on his album “The Great Twenty-Eight” which everyone should own- an essential of essential albums- rock and roll 101. I will include both the Stones version and the superior Berry original.
