THE ROLLING STONES SONG OF THE DAY- CHILD OF THE MOON

The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is- Child Of The Moon.  Child Of The Moon- written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards was the b-side to the Stones classic “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” This would wisely- be The Rolling Stones final song from their brief career in psychedelic music. This song would have been a terrible fit on the country-blues dominated Beggars Banquet- they made a good move in just dumping it onto the b-side of a single. The song was written as a Mick love letter to Marianne Faithfull. The most interesting thing about the song is the promotional video that they made for it- directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg [ who may have been the son of Orson Welles.} The song isn’t bad but not as good as the video. When they were making it Brian Jones who was supposed to be in a scene perched on a tree but he went into the countryside by himself. He looks pretty wasted in the scenes he is in.
