The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is Play With Fire. Play With Fire is on The Rolling Stones “Out Of Our Heads” album and the songwriting is credited to Nanker Phelge- which was The Rolling Stones as a whole. There are only two Rolling Stones who play on this track- Mick and Keith- Jack Nitzsche and Phil Spector also make contributions. The song was recorded one night in Los Angeles with The Stones at RCA Studio in Hollywood. Play With Fire was released also as the b-side to the a-side- The Last Time. Play With Fire did hit the Hot 100 in the US- peaking at #96.
Love this song!
One of my favorite Stones tunes ❤
I’m so surprised that this one didn’t go higher than 96 in the charts. It seems like I heard it played quite a bit. It’s one I’ve always liked.
I thought the same thing- the first Stones album I bought was Hot Rocks- it was on Hot Rocks and is a great tune- I figured it was a pretty good sized hit too.
Hot Rocks was also my first Stones album. You may be onto something there. I could swear the song got quite a bit of radio play too. Maybe it was a regional thing.
There’s a cool menacing sound to this track.. Always liked it
