The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is Good Times. Good Times was written by and first released by the great Sam Cooke in 1964. For Sam Cooke the single went to #1 on the R&B charts and to #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Rolling Stones version was done the next year 1965 five months after Sam Cooke’s death- and released on their Out Of Our Heads album. The Stones recorded another song the same day as Good Times- a little ditty called Satisfaction. It has also been covered by Aretha Franklin, Phoebe Snow, Journey and The Grateful Dead covered it a number of times in concert. Country artist Dan Seals version went to #1 on the country singles chart in the 1990s.
