Around And Around is a Chuck Berry song and what better way to pay tribute to the greatest rock’n roller of them all- then to cover one of his songs while recording at Chess Studio where Chuck made so many great songs. Around And Around was recorded by Chuck Berry in 1958 and was the b-side to one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever- Johnny B. Goode.
The Rolling Stones would record Around And Around for their 5X5 EP at Chess Studio in June 1964. The Rolling Stones stay faithful to the original with Keith shining playing Chuck’s riffs. They would also play the song on their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. This was a song that The Rolling Stones had been playing since the start. On their 1964 and 1965 tours Around And Around was played regularly.
Over the years Around And Around has been preformed by a number of artists including – David Bowie, Pearl Jam, Meatloaf, The Grateful Dead played it over 400 times in concerts.
