AMERICAN TOP 40– NOVEMBER 11, 1972

The American Top 40 replay on the 70’s on 7 this week was from the week of November 11, 1972.  Overall a great week well except for two entries by Osmonds. Some of the great songs this week include – I Can See Clearly Now, Freddie’s Dead, I’ll Be Around, Garden Party, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Burning Love, Summer Breeze, Elected, Operator, All The Young Dudes. Sadly- My Ding A Ling was the only #1 song Chuck Berry ever had- all those great songs he wrote and performed and that was his #1. Life isn’t fair.

  1. Much though it pains me to praise something Osmond, Crazy Horses ain’t that bad. Covered by Morse/Portnoy/George between their covers of ‘Southern Man / Needle And The Damage Done / Cinnamon Girl’ and ‘Lemons Never Forget’.

    • Yes I didn’t even mention all the good songs – I don’t think I gave anything but The Osmonds a grade below C and there were only a couple C’s. A great looking chart.
