- THE ROLLING STONES: THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST: 1967: 3 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: A step backwards but it was 1967 and they had to do their psychedelic album and get it out of their system. The album over the years has been given a more positive reassessment by critics. It’s a terrible album. It has its moments-She’s A Rainbow, 2000 Light Years From Home. Maybe The Stones and psychedelic rock just weren’t a good mix.
- THE ROLLING STONES: BEGGAR’S BANQUET: 1968: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The Stones bounced back and begin a run of four albums in a row that may be the greatest run in rock history. The two side starters- Sympathy For The Devil and Street Fighting Man remain staples in The Stones concert setlists- but Factory Girl, No Expectations, Stray Cat Blues, Jigsaw Puzzle and the rest of the album all strong material.
