  • BOB DYLAN: DESIRE: 1976: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The follow up to one of his best albums “Blood On The Tracks’- is a very strong album also. The songs were co-written by Jacques Levy. Hurricane opens the album and is one of Dylan’s best songs- the story of boxer Ruben “Hurricane” Carter. The album is full of long story songs-Hurricane is over 8 minutes and side 2 Joey 11:05. Mozambique, One More Cup Of Coffee, Romance In Durango, Black Diamond Bay and Sara favorites on the album. Scarlett Rivera and her violin really stand out on this album musically. Also one of the best Dylan album covers.

  • VAN MORRISON/THE CHIEFTAINS: IRISH HEARTBEAT: 1988: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: It is a shame that in the past thirty years since making this album that Van and The Chieftains haven’t gotten together for a few more albums. Reportedly on the tour for this album- some of the Chieftains were about to strangle Van- he was such a difficult person to put up with. The album they did make is a pretty good one. Star Of The County Down, Raglan Road, I’ll Tell Me Ma, Carrackfergus, My Lagan Love and Marie’s Wedding my favorites.
