The Beatles Song Of The Day is “Taxman.” “Taxman” is the first song off of The Beatles “Revolver” album. “Revolver” is in my opinion The Beatles finest album, it is not only my favourite Beatles album but my favourite album by anyone period. George Harrison wrote “Taxman.” John Lennon threw in a few lines to help George when he was asked. The song of course is a bitter song about taxation. Two British prime ministers are mentioned in the song- Edward Heath and Harold Wilson. Heath and Wilson would be the first living people to be mentioned in a Beatles song. George would say in his book “I Me Mine” “Taxman” was when i first realized that even though we had started earning money, we were actually giving most of it away in taxes, it was and still is typical.
