The Beatles Song Of The Day:”I Should Have Known Better”

The Beatles Song Of The Day is “I Should Have Known Better.” “I Should Have Known Better” is the second song on The Beatles third album “A Hard Day’s Night” which was the soundtrack for the movie of the same name. The song was written by John Lennon. John Lennon: double-tracked vocal, acoustic guitar, harmonica/ Paul McCartney: bass guitar/ George Harrison: lead guitar/ Ringo Starr: drums. The song was somewhat influenced by Bob Dylan-the harmonica part. George Harrison had bought “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” a  month earlier in Paris and The Beatles had fallen under his influence. A cheery, upbeat song which followed “A Hard Day’s Night” on the album. Great sequencing.  Great song, this song always makes me smile. One of John’s more optimistic songs. The song was recorded on February 25th and 26th, 1964 at Abbey Road. Producer: George Martin.
