The Green Bay Packers had a very disappointing 2018- finishing out of the playoffs and with a losing record at 7-9. When QB Aaron Rodgers went down so did the Green Bay Packers season- Rodgers missed the final 9 games of the season in which the Packers went 3-6. The Packers were 3-8 in their final 11 games. That wasn’t the only problem that brought the Packers season crumbling down but you have to figure as long as Rodgers is on the field they are going to be competitive and his replacement Brett Hundley was an inadequate replacement.
The Packers have the most draft choices in the upcoming draft and they need those picks to retool on defense -at cornerback and the linebacker positions. Jordy Nelson is also gone so adding help at wide receiver is necessary. They also need help at OT. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers the Packers could bounce back and make the playoffs in a highly competitive NFL. I read someone’s opinion that in the NFC all the teams in the conference were capable of being in the playoffs. I don’t know if I agree with that but I would say most of the teams in the conference will go into the season with playoff hopes. I can’t see the 2018 Bears for example being a playoff team.
With the 14th pick in the NFL draft- the Packers fill a critical need at cornerback by selecting CB Joshua Jackson Iowa 6’0″ 196 4.56 in the 40. Jackson is a ball hawk- in 2017 with Iowa he had 8 interceptions, 18 passes broken up along with 48 tackles. Most services rank him as the second best corner overall in the draft. He should be there with the 14th pick for The Pack.
