The Beatles Song Of The Day: “This Boy”

slicethelife

The Beatles Song Of The Day is “This Boy.” “This Boy” was the b-side to the incredible “I Want To Hold Your Hand” in the United Kingdom. It was released on the album “Meet The Beatles” in the United States. “This Boy” was written by John Lennon. John Lennon: vocal and acoustic guitar/ Paul McCartney: vocal and bass guitar/ George Harrison: vocal and lead guitar/ Ringo Starr: drums. The song was recorded on October 17th, 1963 at Abbey Road. Producer: George Martin. John said this was another of his songs trying to write a Smokey Robinson and The Miracles type song. This is one of those underrated Beatles gems in my opinion. I always loved this song. Not really much to the lyrics but I thought John did a great job singing the song. It was a mood piece. Excellent work.

  1. I like that clip in “Living in the Material World” of George and others watching the clip of the Beatles miming the song, 10-11 years later. That wasn’t much of a lapse in time, yet with those guys it seems like every year was a decade.
