Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre became the 33rd player to get 300o or more hits in a career- this afternoon when he doubled off of Wade Miley of the Orioles in the 4th inning of today’s game in Arlington, Texas. Beltre who arrived in the majors with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1998 at the age of 19 has been for most of his career an underappreciated player. At 38 Beltre is still going strong- hitting .310 this year and has a shot at another milestone- he has 454 career home runs, 46 short of 500 in his career. Beltre has been an outstanding third baseman during his career. Beltre appears to have 2-3 more seasons left in him and after that I’d see no reason why he wouldn’t be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
