I used to buy concert t-shirts but that was back in the day. I can’t recall the last one I bought- I quit buying them when the t-shirts became more expensive than the actual concert ticket. On Saturday at the U2 concert the t-shirts were going for $40. I don’t know I didn’t actually look at or touch them to know the quality of the shirts but I’ve noticed the t-shirts they sell at concerts are not as comfortable as they once were. I am not spending $40 on a t-shirt.
This t-shirt I bought at a John Hiatt concert in 1995. I was a big fan of John Hiatt’s- not that I am not anymore but I haven’t bought a new Hiatt album in some time. I’ve seen him several times in concert and they were pretty good concerts. When I think of this concert- I think of my friend Amy who went with me. She wasn’t familiar with Hiatt. There was a song on this album “Perfectly Good Guitar” called “The Wreck of the Barbie Ferrari” she liked that song and thought it was hilarious. If I called Amy right now and said “John Hiatt” I know she’d say “Barbie Ferrari.”
