Goal is to listen to 1500 different albums in a period of 12 months.
TODAY- LISTENED TO 6 DIFFERENT ALBUMS. TOTAL FOR 46 DAYS- 285 DIFFERENT ALBUMS. ON PACE FOR 2261.
- CROWDED HOUSE: WOODFACE: 1991: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Every song on this album sounds like a hit single to me.
- TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS: HARD PROMISES: 1981: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Good, solid album with a number of highlights. Could do without Stevie Nick’s vocals on two songs.
- BOB DYLAN: BLONDE ON BLONDE: 1966. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. The greatest double album in rock history- in my opinion. It was released 51 years ago today- “Pet Sounds” also released on that date. Imagine one song “Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands” took up the entire 4th side. This is Bob at his peak.
- THE BLACK KEYS: TURN BLUE: 2014: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Catchy songs. Another act out of Akron, Ohio- what is in the water? This album hit #1 on the Top 200 album chart.
- BODEANS: LOVE& HOPE& SEX & DREAMS: 1986: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. An album I had in heavy rotation in 1986. The BoDeans are still around with 13 albums now to their credit. This one is their high water mark.
- CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL: PENDULUM: 1970. 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: CCR’s next to last album. The hits were starting to dry up at this point although “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?” was a hit on this. A very good album but kind of a step down from where they had been.
