2017 NFL Mock Draft Pick 32 – New Orleans Saints – Charles Harris LB Missouri

The Patriots had this pick by virtue of winning the Super Bowl. The Saints have Sean Payton and Drew Brees and seem to be able to turn anyone into an offensive receiving threat. The Saints are also on borrowed time as salary cap hell looms, and Brees ages. New Orleans traded away a serious offensive weapon in Brandin Cooks for this pick. Having them get Gareon Conley earlier in this draft, again I think they go defense here and get a pass rusher.

Charles Harris at 6’3″ 253lbs comes from a factory of defensive line prospects out of Mizzou. The Saints need someone to line up opposite of Cameron Jordan and wreak some havoc, and maybe hearken back to the days of Rickey Jackson and Pat Swilling. I do not think that they have the draft assets to move up higher than this pick. They are also still talking to the Patriots about CB Malcolm Butler. If that happens, then even taking Conley at the earlier pick is off the board.

Saints select Charles Harris LB Missouri.

Now to sit back and see how Hans and I do.
