2017 NFL Mock Draft pick 27 Kansas City Chiefs – Deshaun Watson QB Clemson

Andy Reid likes taking quarterbacks. This draft will likely be no different, but anything is possible. This pick could also be Patrick Mahomes depending on how the draft flows. Houston could take Watson leaving KC with Mahomes.

Watson was a great college QB. Not sure yet if this will translate to the NFL or not. He has been a shotgun/spread/quick tempo offense QB his whole career, so being under center and adjusting to pace of play may slow his learning. As with any college QB these days, we do not know their depth or ability to read defenses.

Watson does have a strong arm and a good work ethic. Getting picked by Andy Reid and being under his coaching should let Watson have a good career.

He is 6’2″ 220lbs and if he picks up Reid’s system should be the QB KC has been looking for. He is a good leader and has pocket presence. Does not seem to be jittery or have a lot of negative motion. Should be a good fit for both Watson and KC for a latter half of the 1st round draft pick.

With pick 27 Kansas City Chiefs take Deshaun Watson QB Clemson.
