This pick is the LA Rams first round pick that was acquired in a draft day trade last season. The Titans went 9-7 last year finishing second in the AFC South and just missing out on the playoffs. By virtue of their trade last season they get this pick from the Rams and will have their own pick at 18.
I had slotted LSU Safety Jamal Adams here, but was rudely awakened when Hans grabbed him 3rd for the Bears, which is a decent probability to happen as the Bears have many needs. With Adams off the board here, improving the secondary is still the route that the Titans should go – and taking the best player available yields Marshon Lattimore.
Lattimore is 6’0″ 195lbs and is a fantastic athlete. The downside to Lattimore is that he has a bit of the injury bug. Hamstring injuries have forced him to miss many games, and he has had surgery to try and correct the issue. The Titans could use an offensive playmaker, but I think they will wait until pick 18 to rectify that. Depending on what happens with the previous picks, this could be Lattimore, Adams, Solomon Thomas, or Alabama DT Jonathan Allen.
