Goal is to listen to 1500 different albums in a 12 month period.

Day 10- LISTENED TO 7 DIFFERENT ALBUMS. TOTAL 10 DAYS- 65 DIFFERENT ALBUMS.

  • THE CLASH: THE CLASH: 1977. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. This would never happen today. Back in the 70’s I read about The Clash months and months before I had a chance to actually HEAR them. No radio stations were playing it. The Clash’s first album- wasn’t even released in the US- until 2 year after it was out in the UK. and it was released after The Clash’s second album came out. When they finally did release The Clash in the US- it was a bastardized version- the exact same songs appeared on the US version. It’s been nearly 40 years now but I remember clearly going to a baseball game in Pittsburgh. I was too young to drive so a friend and I took a bus. We had to catch the bus after the game in downtown Pittsburgh. There was a National Record Mart near the spot where we caught the bus. I would also check the store out if we had time. I saw The Clash’s second album ” Give’em Enough Rope” and it was an automatic buy. I could finally listen to The Clash. I wasn’t disappointed. Anyway when The Clash, “The Clash” finally did come out-it was twice as good as the second album.
  • FRANK SINATRA: SONGS FOR YOUNG LOVERS: 1954. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. The beginning of Frank’s glorious Capital Years. Frank
  • THE BEATLES: HELP!: 1965. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS.
  • FRANK SINATRA: SWING EASY!: 1954. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS.
  • LINDSAY BUCKINGHAM: LAW AND ORDER: 1981. 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. I was never a Fleetwood Mac fanatic but I was a fan of Lindsay Buckingham’s contributions to the group [ and Christine McVie’s- I never cared for Stevie Nicks} Buckingham’s first solo album featuring the minor hit “Trouble.” Wish he had done more solo stuff over the years,
  • ELVIS COSTELLO: MY AIM IS TRUE. 1977. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS.
  • ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE ATTRACTIONS: THIS YEAR’S MODEL: 1978. 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS. Sometime in 1978 a classmate called Grier came into history class one day raving about an artist with the name Elvis Costello. On my next trip to the record store I picked up the above two albums and was hooked on first listen. Outside of The Beatles albums the first four Elvis Costello albums are probably the most listened to in my collection.
