The Great War Ends-This Day 1918

On this day in 1918 The Great War, The War To End All Wars-World War I came to an end. At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the war was officially over. Nine million soldiers died, 21 million more were wounded and at least five million civilians died. They called it the “War to end all wars” because surely after all the loss of life in this one governments would come to their senses and realize you just can’t do this anymore. Of course people never learn. Because of the surrender terms imposed on Germany, they would down the road turn to Adolf Hitler and we would have a generation later World War II.
