Noted singer-songwriter and guitarist Marshall Crenshaw turns 59 today. In the past 30 years Crenshaw has released 10 studio albums. His first album “Marshall Crenshaw” was a masterpiece. One of my favourite albums from the early 1980’s. I do not think he’s come close to that debut since. I love the sound of that first album. I would describe Crenshaw’s music as power pop.

Crenshaw had one Top 40 hit “Someday, Someway” from the debut album. The best compilation of Marshall Crenshaw’s work is “The Best of Marshall Crenshaw-This Is Easy”
