Jimmy Carter’s “Malaise” speech given on this day in 1979.

On this day in 1979 President Jimmy Carter gives his so-called ” Malaise”  speech, where he characterizes the greatest threat to the country as “this crisis in the growing doubt about the meaning of our own lives and in the loss of a unity of purpose for our nation” JFK is known for his Inaugural Address, his speech at Rice University where he proposed sending a man to the moon before the end of the decade, Ronaldus Magnus is known for his speech at the Berlin Wall, the Challenger exploding speech. Jimmy Carter..well he had his “Malaise” speech. Thanks Jimmy. Jimmy Carter is good at one thing-building houses. He should have stuck with that. The “Malaise Speech” was used superbly in the beginning of the movie “Miracle” about the 1980  Miracle on Ice.
