Great Western Vacation Day 5ive June 15. Deadwood, Colorado

We drove about an hour to Deadwood to start the day. From what I had read about the place I wasn’t pumped up about this stop but it was along the way and I wanted to stop there. A lot of casino’s and souvenirIshops. We went to the Adams Museum which gave a pretty good history of the town.

I loved the HBO show of a few years back Deadwood.  I love collecting t-shirts. I thought for sure one of those shops would have t-shirts related to the tv show. Didn’t see one shirt. The only thing I saw on sale regarding the program was a framed poster of the show. We spend a couple hours here. Glad we stopped but I would have no desire to go there again.

They were having a big weekend [it was a Friday were were there} Wild Bill Days… Rick Springfield and The Marshall Tucker Band were giving free concerts. I swear I saw Rick Springfield. Not a fan. “Jesse’s Girl” wasn’t a bad tune though.

After leaving Deadwood we headed north- into northwestern South Dakota and straight up into North Dakota. I had never been to North Dakota before.
