100 Great Songs From The British Invasion: 1963-1966. See See Rider- Eric Burdon and The Animals. The first single under Eric Burdon and The Animals- instead of The Animals- came out in 1966. See See Rider was first recorded way back in 1924 as a blues song by Gertrude ‘Ma’ Rainey. See See Rider- has been a much covered song- about an unfaithful lover. Chuck Willis sent it to #12 in 1957, LaVern Baker #34 in 1963, Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels had See See Rider as part of a medley with ‘Jenny Take A Ride’ #10 in 1965. This is the final of the 100 Great Songs From The British Invasion 1963-1966. In January I will move on to 1967-69.
