Michael Bolton covering the Percy Sledge classic #1 hit from 1966- went to #1 and won him a Grammy for Pop Male Vocal. Bolton covering this song should have brought charges of crimes against humanity instead. Awful. Bolton may have even less soul than Pat Boone.
Agreed, Not every number one is meritorious: every now and then enough people buy into the latest pretty boy tangly maned flavour of the month and add it to their record/cassingle collection. A year later the song hasn’t been played in eleven and a half months.
One of your best lines ever Hans, and couldn’t agree more: “Bolton covering this song should have brought charges of crimes against humanity”
Thanks… he should have only been allowed to record originals no covers.
Or better yet, not been allowed to record, period.
I like your idea much better..
F-, huh? I take it you’re not exactly a fan of Michael Bolton, Hans? 🙂
But he did sing with so much passion!
LOL– he did put everything into it that’s for sure.
He always sounded like he was passing a kidney stone when he sang.
Ha! 🙂
OMG! LMAO! Exactly! I always thought he sounded like someone ran over his foot with a car.
LOL!
Compared to Michael Bolton, Pat Boone was Smokey Robinson.
That is the truth! LOL.
