Redbone formed in Los Angeles, California- had two Top 40 hits- this- ‘The Witch Queen Of New Orleans’ was the first- the other- a bigger hit- and one you still hear today- ‘Come And Get Your Love’ #5 in 1974.’ The Queen Witch Of New Orleans’ is about a 19th century practitioner of voodoo named Marie Laveau.
Always tickle me that LEON REDBONE had a disclaimer on the sleeve of his ‘On The Track’ album of 1975, stating:
‘Leon Redbone is not to be confused or associated with the Epic recording artists, ‘Redbone.’:-D
that’s funny
a great tune I remember well from my childhood. I like it more than their big hit that is still played on radio.
