Neil Diamond was born in Brooklyn in 1941. Elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. This was his second hit of 1971- earlier ‘I Am..I Said’ went to #4. Liked Neil Diamond up to the point where he jumped the shark with “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers’ late in the decade.

  1. You lasted longer than I- ‘No-one was there, not even the chair’ was the Jawsful moment for me; Then the steaming mess of ‘Jonathan Livingstone Seagull’ terminated my Diamond appreciation time.
