The only hit by singer-songwriter Jonathan Edwards- it went to #4 in the fall of 1971. Again one of those odd happenings- originally a song called ‘Please Find Me’ was supposed to go on the album but it was accidentally erased and ‘Sunshine’ was placed in its place. ‘Sunshine’ first broke in Boston- and then caught on across the US.
This is the first time I remember hearing a blatant swear word in a song on the radio. Me and my little grade school friends thought we were rebels when we sang along to it. 🙂
Boy, a lot of songs were sure short back then.
