Les Crane- born Leslie Stein in 1933-in Long Beach, New York. This was his own Hot 100 single. Stein was married to Ginger Grant- aka Tina Louise from 1966-1974. They must have got along well in the early years- with Tina stuck on Gilligan’s Island.
Well, I prefer the National Lampoon parody, but the original is pretty unintentionally funny in itself (even though there is some good advice in there).
