Born Steven Georgiou in London in 1948- Cat Stevens- who has gone by Yusuf Islam since 1979- had 14 Hot 100 singles and 11 making the Top 40. I thought he had even more hits than he did. One of the great singer-songwriters of the 1970’s singer-songwriter era.
Like this one and the flip side.
Those backing vocals are amazing.
Maybe my favorite song of his.
Such a talent. I was bummed when he seemed to disappear.
