Billboard #1 Hits: #677: ‘Look Away’- Chicago. December 10, 1988. #1 for 2 weeks in Billboard Hot 100.

  • Single: ‘Look Away’-Chicago
  • Record Company- Full Moon/ Reprise
  • Genre: Pop Rock
  • Written by Diane Warren
  • Time: 4:02
  • B-side: ‘Come In From The Night’
  • Album- Chicago 19
  • Grade: C
  • Peaked at #1 2 weeks in Billboard Hot 100. #77 in UK Singles Chart. #1 in Canada.

Chicago’s 3rd and final #1 hit- the other two were ‘If You Leave Me Now’ 1976 and the wimpy ‘Hard To Say I’m Sorry’ 1982. Peter Cetera had gone on to a solo career at this point- lead vocals done by Bill Champlin. Not a big fan of 80’s Chicago- they lost their charm as the lost their horns.
