Bangla-Desh’- was a George Harrison- non-album single which he wrote to raise awareness for the millions of refugees from the country formerly known as East Pakistan following the cyclone and war which hit there. The issue was brought to George’s attention by his good friend Ravi Shankar. George not only did this single but also organized a concert the famous Concert For Bangla-Desh which took place on August 1, 1971.
