INXS- an alternative rock band from Sydney, Australia- from 1983-2005 had 19 Hot 100 hits with 11 making the Top 40- this single ‘Need You Tonight’ was their only #1- but it was the first of six Top 10 singles in a row for the band. I knew they had hits- but I wasn’t following the charts that closely back in the late 80s- I didn’t realize their singles were that successful.
